Children At Play

My children play all day at Child Care.

They are not learning anything and I am FED UP WITH IT!

Is this a frustration you constantly battle and carry with you every day about the facility or home care center that your child is at?

Did you know that toys are tools that help children learn about themselves and the world around them?

Play is critical to the healthy growth and development of children. As they grow they learn to solve problems, to get along with others and to develop the fine and gross motor

skills needed to grow and learn! Children are constantly learning through play by using all

senses; sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. They walk, climb, push, ride and constantly seek our new information, experiences, and challenges.

What’s my role as a parent/ guardian?

Remember that YOU are their first and best playmates! Parents have a HUGE role in being involved in their child’s play. Children tend to be more creative when their parents are involved in their play. The best play occurs when the adult plays alongside of the children. Become part of your child’s play may take practice, at first it may seem “childish” but remember your children are only little once we need to make every opportunity a learning opportunity, there are limitless teachable moments throughout your days together. Don’t waste them and put them to good use!

Play with your children and relish in every moment!
